I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I live in this body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Testimony 01/04/06: Two Little Dogs

My two little dogs ran excitedly across backyard that Sunday morning. I played with them, took some pictures, and do all sort of things with them. They did some tricks and I gave them extra bits of bread.

The afternoon sun settled above us. I sat on the terrace floor as Nino came, climbing onto my lap. Making herself comfortable, she rested her head between my knees and fell asleep.

I set my eyes on her, watching her sleeping. As much as I like to see her run and do tricks, I love to see her sleeping. It feels so peaceful and … I feel so happy! I feel such joy! I didn’t notice the bees buzzing their way among the flowers or the butterflies playfully fly across the garden. No. I fixed my gaze upon my sleeping dog.

May be that is what our Father in heaven feels. He takes joy watching us resting in His presence. He loves us doing our duties, ministering others… but above all that, He loves to see us finding rest in Him.

Have you seek Him lately? Or have you been busy with your daily routine?

Testimony 21/03/06: God Had It All Under Control

Today was a long day. I started driving home from work at 7pm. I was tired and obviously not that alert anymore. Then a motorbike pulled over. By the time I realised it, the motorbike have jerked and the both men on it stared at me.

“Oh…” I sighed. I had hit the bike I told myself.

I got out of my car and told my colleague in the car behind me to help me talk to them. I don’t know what to do in the situation like this. It was dark. Both guys are men. And I am not familiar how to negotiate on the road. We don’t really do insurance over here in Indonesia.

I jumped into my car again. But before I start the engine, one of the guys knocked on my side window. I opened it and he told me that it was okay. I only scratched his leg. He asked me to drive more carefully next time.

Well… My car has a three-liter turbo engine diesel. It is like a monster! With a bulbar on it, it was a miracle that I had not crushed anything at all. Thank God for it.

For my colleagues, the horror was not that I hit someone. Going out of the car was a definite no, no. They said if I am not sure that I have hit something, just drive on. Even if I have hit something, go over to the police station to settle things. Why? Because people could simply become anarchic and kill me on the street. But I didn’t know that. And I realized that I didn’t even lock the car when I went out of it! But God had it all under control. Amen!
