I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I live in this body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Testimony 28/09/2006: Something More Glorious

What does God create salt for? Well... I guess we all know that salt is useful to give taste to the food we eat.

Especially in the past, salt takes more roles than simply giving flavour. Do you know that salt is useful as preservative? It helps people to keep their food, especially during days of famine. It helps people to stay alive. Do you know that salt is also useful as purifying agent? It kills germs and bacteria.

Notice that salt doesn’t stand by itself. You won’t say to yourself, “I’m having a bowl of salt.” Salt doesn’t call attention to itself. Its call is to lose itself into something more glorious than itself. It must come out of its shakers to fulfill its purpose.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Matthew 5:13

We are the salt of the earth. Seek God and you’ll be salty. Salt at the right amount will create thirst. And guess what? Thirst is the best condition to minister.

And oh… one more thing, do you know that salt was so useful in the past that people put such high value on it? The Romans paid their soldiers with salt. Even countries finance their wars with salt! And that’s how our Daddy in heaven views us. So no matter how you feel or what people say about you, remember this… you are His priced possession.
